Under general supervision of the Director for Engineering Student Services, and with lead work direction provided by the Assistant Director/MEP Coordinator, the incumbent provides advising and related retention services. This position is primarily dedicated to MEP students but will also support the Engineering Student Services team in advising all engineering students including supporting students experiencing academic difficulty, changes of major, planning courses towards graduation, assisting students with strategies for success in their academics, advising students on academic probation, communicating College and University policies and procedures, processing forms related to degree progress, quarterly advising workshops and programs, readmission for returning students, and interpreting curriculum sheets, flowcharts, articulation agreements, requirements towards degree, and online advising tools.

Advising, Multicultural Engineering (MEP), International Exchange Program (IEP) our staff provide comprehensive services to guide and empower students to achieve their goals.
As a division of Engineering Student Services, the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) is an academic support program designed to retain and graduate students who continue to remain underrepresented in engineering. MEP leverages a strong support network to build a community and provide the necessary bridges for students’ academic, personal, and professional success.
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $55,320 – $60,420 annually
Classification Range: $55,320 – $78,672 annually
