Position Description:
We have an immediate opening for a qualified engineer to join our stream and wetland restoration design team. The new team member will participate in all aspects of the restoration design process from initial feasibility investigation to detailed design and hydraulic analysis of restoration alternatives. Work will include a mixture of field work and collaborative design work as part of a team of engineers and scientists. The ideal candidate will be added to an experienced team working on all aspects of restoration design, with opportunities to participate in applied research work and advanced technical training.
About us:
The Stream Institute is an applied and interdisciplinary design and research group at the forefront of innovative stream and wetland restoration throughout the eastern United States. To date, the Stream Institute and its industry partners have designed over 275,000 linear feet of stream restoration and 200 acres of wetland restoration. The Stream Institute is engaged in research to improve industry wide design, hydraulic modeling, and assessment practices with the goal of increasing the value and resilience of ecological restoration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in a civil, environmental or water resources discipline, OR equivalent training and experience to substitute. A minimum of three years of related professional work experience is needed. A candidate’s combined professional experience and education will be evaluated by the hiring team. Greater than five years’ work experience is preferred. Master’s level coursework or advanced training will be considered as a substitute for years of experience.
Demonstrated capabilities and technical training in one of the following primary areas is strongly preferred:
