DIVISION – COMMISSIONERS/INTERNAL AUDIT
POSITION TYPE – This position is eligible for up to three (3) days of telecommuting.
Internal Audit is managed by the Director of Internal Audit, who is appointed by and reports to the PUCT Commissioners. Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services, using a risk-based approach, to add value and improve the operations of the PUC. Internal Audit assists the PUC in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of, the PUC’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes.
Internal Audit is seeking an Internal Auditor who has a desire to work in the utility regulatory industry and would like to expand their knowledge, skills and experience performing highly advanced (senior-level) internal auditing work. Work is conducted in accordance with the generally accepted auditing standards and the International Professional Practices Framework and Code of Ethics set forth by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Work involves preparing and executing audit plans, testing, evaluating, and reporting on the adequacy of internal accounting and administrative controls within the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Work involves examining, investigating, and reviewing records, reports, financial statements, and management practices to ensure legal compliance with state statutes and internal regulations. Provide guidance and assistance in governmental auditing to improve governance, risk management, and internal control processes for the agency and divisions.

Salary commensurate with qualifications. The salary of an ERS Retiree or non-contributing member may be 9.5% less than the recommended salary.
