Senior Financial Specialist

The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. (UT Foundation) is seeking a Senior Financial Specialist for the central services office. This position will perform various accounting, auditing and records management activities supporting all units and institutes of the UT Foundation. This position reports to the Director of Accounting with primary responsibilities to include but are not limited to the accurate entry of vendor and employee payment requests, review of account ledgers, ensuring compliance with fiscal policies, and distribution of the monthly budget and operating reports to various Advancement leadership. Additional duties include data entry and records management of personnel activity related to benefits and recruitment.

UT Foundation’s central services provide support the mission to raise financial, public and political support for the University of Tennessee. Nearly 50 employees work together to engage and build meaningful relationships with alumni.
Qualifications
Required qualifications: An Associate’s degree is required with a minimum of three years of direct accounting or fiscal experience. Bachelor’s degree in business or finance is preferred. Two years of experience in direct business or finance field is acceptable with a Bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This position requires experience with accounting procedures, accounts payable, and/or bookkeeping. Higher education experience working with and implementing fiscal policies/procedures and experience with the budgetary process is preferred.
Knowledge and recent advanced experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel is required. IRIS (SAP) experience is preferred. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service and interpersonal relationship skills, and the ability to accurately relay information are required.
