Job Description:
The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program at Binghamton University is one of TRIO’s college retention programs funded by the United States Department of Education. SSS at Binghamton demonstrates that earning a quality education and achieving life-long success is not limited by financial status, background, or disability. Our SSS program aims to increase retention and graduation of first-generation and/or low-income (FGLI) students and/or students with disabilities.
SSS is seeking an Academic Counselor who is committed to this mission, and has experience advising, mentoring, teaching and/or tutoring students of diverse backgrounds. Successful candidates possess the drive and skills necessary to develop meaningful relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the University community to support the success of program participants.
The Academic Counselor is under general supervision of the Associate Director of the TRIO SSS Programs. This position is split between SSS General and SSS-STEM grants and advises students served by both grants. SSS General and SSS STEM are housed within the Division of Student Affairs.

1. Work Hours – Will work occasional weekend and evening hours as assigned. Will work extended hours during S4P.

Salary Range: $48,000 annually.
