Under supervision of the Director of Tuition Management and Student Account Systems,, this role assists the Director in ensuring the University’s financial processes related tuition and fees are efficient and transparent and student financial systems are configured accurately and timely. This role collaborates with school partners and works with the Director to determine tuition and fee rules for all academic programs, assists with managing billing statements, works with the Director to produce accurate financial reconciliation and reporting, and configures and supports systems related to student accounts as directed.
This role supports and facilitates decision-making in key areas of financial management and strategic planning. This position will conduct objective analysis of the financial performance within Penn and will develop an in-depth understanding of the business and financial structure.

Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with partners across campus as requested by the Director to establish and maintain effective business rules for tuition and fee assessment with special attention on balancing the unique needs of the programs with overall cost of maintenance.
Assist the Director with testing the efficacy of the tuition and fee assessment business rule and calls out deficiencies.
Assist with creating training/orientation/detailed walk-through guides across SRFS teams to support business continuity and clear communication. Consistently reflect the core values of SRFS and Penn’s behavioral competencies in role with all interactions and communications.
Assist with the generation of accurate monthly billing statements and communicate them timely.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual student account reconciliations as requested by the Director. Assists with determining the source of any variance.
Assist with the configuration of the cost of attendance tool and solicit timely school input for each academic term as requested by the Director.
Assist with the configuration and support vendor systems related to student accounts receivables, including but not limited to student payments, financial hold processes, and tax reporting.
Develop, manage, and maintain accurate documentation regarding standard operating procedures, job aids, process documentation, risk assessments, protocols, and other documentation for tuition and fee rules for all academic programs and billing processes.
Utilize various technologies, programs and partnership to accurately document processes in a timely manner.
Develop and run reports using business objects and other reporting tools as needed.
Productively manage conflict by recognizing and articulating differing opinions: appropriately bring conflict into the open and involve people/resources in resolving and supporting solutions; Recognize the validity of opposing viewpoints and does not act defensively; Exercise tact and discretion when handling confidential information and situations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of demonstrated experience. Experience with Ellucian’s Banners system and fee assessment and accounts receivable modules is required. Candidates must demonstrate technical proficiency and adaptability to new software. Furthermore, candidates must show an ability and willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues and peers, have an adept understanding of higher education student financial policies, and strong communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and accurate. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines. Must be flexible, show effective judgement, discretion and have the ability to handle confidential financial matters.
Work effectively in a highly matrixed and decentralized environment with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and demonstrate appreciation and support for diversity, inclusion and belonging in a constantly evolving academic/higher education environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Progressive work experience in higher education finance and student accounts. Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations that govern tuition and fee assessment and collection. Experience with Touchnet systems and international payment vendors preferred.
Conduct financial and operational analysis to support planning efforts that span a wide range of initiatives.
Analyze the consolidated budget, capital plans, multi-year financial plans, etc.; monitor current year budget to actual results. May manage the annual fiscal budget process.
Analyze data from various systems to produce regular and ad hoc financial reports.
Participate in review of operational processes and policies to ensure sound and consistent financial analysis protocol.
Provide staff mentoring and training and development for finance and business professionals. Manage a team of diverse professionals.
