Help Desk Support / IS Technician
Large, vertically integrated, agricultural and food and beverage processing organization in search of a Help Desk Support/IS Technician to join the staff of a multi-entity IT department. The Help Desk Support/IS Technician will be responsible for the support and maintenance of computer workstations, software, networking, and telecommunication systems within the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have experience explaining complex technical situations to novice users and a strong emphasis on customer service. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) but may be subject to working nights and/or weekends, as the situation is warranted. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to join an established organization that has experienced significant growth recently.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting with the setup, installation, repair and configuration of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers/scanners/copiers, audio/visual equipment, and software.
· Assisting with the creation of new user accounts and the removal of old user accounts within Active Directory and Exchange Online.
· Serves as the initial point of contact for all technical requests received over the phone or through the ticketing system
· Effectively communicating with users to set proper expectations and keeping them informed of incident progress
· Travel to remote offices to assist onsite staff and maintain equipment
· Inventory of assets in the IS asset management system
· Documenting new and existing practices in the IS knowledge base system
· Performing other miscellaneous duties, as requested
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
· Creating and updating technical documentation
· Microsoft Windows operating systems
Preferred Qualifications:
· College degree or technical certificate in computer science or a related discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of training and experience
· Microsoft Certifications (MTA, MCP, MOS) preferred, but not required
· Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) preferred, but not required
· CompTIA Certifications (A+, Network+)
Physical Requirements:
· Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
· Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds to perform repairs or servicing of computers
