Job Summary/Basic Function
The Director of Medical Education Administration is a technologically savvy professional with sound knowledge of medical school admissions, student affairs, and undergraduate medical education who will unify and streamline services provided by units within this administrative office. This position requires an ability to handle multi-disciplinary work, and possess a high level of organizational and investigative skills, and strategic, operational, personnel and project management skills.
This position reports to the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs and is under the general supervision of the vice dean. The Director of Medical Education Administration develops, organizes, implements, and coordinates all administrative functions and processes within the Office for Educational Affairs and works collaboratively with staff overseeing finance and budget, human resource management, and facilities management.
In conjunction with the vice dean, the director will set policies and procedures, and serve as a resource regarding strategic planning. The Director of Medical Education Administration provides administrative support for NRMP/ERAS-related student affairs duties.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business or healthcare. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in undergraduate medical education including experience in medical school admissions and/or student affairs.
Essential Functions and percent of time
30% – Extract data from admissions, NBME, AAMC SRS, NRMP, BANNER, and BAMS platforms for reports on trends and student outcomes for senior BSOM leadership
20% – Lead the creation of and maintenance of Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) portfolios
