Job Description:

THIS POOL IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT FOR WESTFIELD STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS DURING SUMMER 2023; CURRENT AND FUTURE STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE FIRST CONSIDERATION.

Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Timeframe: Seasonal
Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00a.m.-2:30p.m.
Regular Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Salary: $15.00-$18.00 per hour (To commensurate with skill and experience)

General Statement of Duties: The summer student Trades & Grounds Assistant(s) will, under general supervision, assist with duties in their assigned trade(s). Based on campus needs, individuals may be asked to assist with other work as needed. This posting intends to hire:

Four (4) Grounds Assistants

Plant flowers, weed, complete general grounds work and campus maintenance.

Five (5) Paint Assistants

Refresh paint in various campus spaces.

One (1) Trades Assistant

Provide assistance to full time staff in the area(s) of HVAC, electrical, carpentry and/or plumbing. Specific assignment will be determined based on campus needs and skills of successful candidate.

Salary:
For the majority of new employees, the minimum starting salary will apply. Specific salary for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining and state policies and procedures.

Covid-19 Requirements:

As a condition of employment, you will be required to complete an initial series of COVID vaccination (2 doses of Pfizer/Moderna or 1 dose of J&J) prior to coming to campus.
