The Sr. Manager of Product and Portfolio Management will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective governance processes and frameworks throughout the product and portfolio management lifecycle. This role will develop, implement, and oversee governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for the entire product management lifecycle, including ideation, development, launch, and post-launch activities.
This role will also oversee the enterprise portfolio management governance framework and its core processes to include project intake, prioritization, risk and issue management, resource management, benefits realization, and portfolio health. On a monthly basis the role will be accountable to deliver robust executive reporting on the health and status of the product portfolio’s book of work.
Responsibilities:
Define and document standardized processes and workflows for product requirements gathering prioritization, development, and release management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineering, marketing, sales, and legal, to ensure adherence to governance standards and compliance.
Conduct regular reviews of product management processes to identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of product and portfolio management practices.
Provide guidance and support to product teams in implementing and following governance processes, including training in best practices and tools.
Act as a subject matter expert on product management governance, participating in internal and external audits and examinations as necessary.
Continuously evaluate and improve the governance frameworks and processes based on feedback, lessons learned, and evolving industry standards.
Organize monthly Book of Work Portfolio Meetings with product, regions, and enterprise executives. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, effectively communicating portfolio performance, risks, and recommendations.
Coordinate with strategy and finance to run the annual / continuous planning process for the Product Portfolio Organization,
Work with strategy on OKR alignment and updates
Work with finance on overall budget reports
Lead the evaluation and prioritization of IT projects and initiatives based on established criteria, including strategic alignment, business value, risk assessment, resource requirements, and financial impact.
Monitor the performance and progress of IT projects within the portfolio, tracking key metrics, assessing risks and issues, and taking proactive measures to mitigate potential problems.
Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess the portfolio’s health, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend adjustments to optimize project selection, sequencing, and resource allocation.
Drive portfolio governance processes, ensuring compliance with project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in product management or a related role, with a focus on process governance and compliance.
Proven experience in IT portfolio management, including portfolio optimization, project prioritization, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
Strong knowledge of product and project management methodologies and frameworks.
Experience with process mapping, documentation, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyze complex information, make data-driven decisions, and solve problems effectively.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and senior executives.
Experience with portfolio management tools and software is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) are a plus.
Organizational change management competency, including translating business and transformation plans into actions and results that achieve agreed upon benefits.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $141,577 – $210,000 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align ,with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
