This is a part-time 20 hour per week position with the potential for expansion during peak times.**
Student learning is the primary responsibility of WGU faculty. Instructors are subject matter experts who
teach and mentor students when students engage in their assigned courses. Instructors vary the type, length, and intensity of instructional
methods based upon student needs. Instructors work on a team to support an assigned group of students and offer specialized instruction on
challenging topics. Using technology, Instructors interact with students in both group and one-on-one settings. As part of WGU’s
disaggregated faculty model, Instructors provide their expertise and collaborate with the faculty who are responsible for developing and
evaluating courses and assessments.
Part-Time hourly Instructors are expected to work
approximately 20 hours per week but on occasion may vary somewhat, depending on the needs of the assigned group of learners. The role is not
expected to exceed 29 hours per week.
Department-specific Time Expectations:
Each department will have specific days
and times that coverage is needed. Please ensure you are aware of the required time commitment and proposed work schedule.
This role is paid hourly and bi-weekly. The employee will be required to enter all hours
worked in an accurate and timely manner.
