Posting Information:
This Cashier will work collaboratively with our Student Accounts Office in the Killian Annex of the Cullowhee, NC campus. The Cashier will serve in support of our Student Accounts Specialists, and will be responsible for entering certain student payments, balancing a cash drawer, completing daily reconciliations, general clerical duties and data-entry assignments as needed. The Student Accounts Office assists students by answering their questions specific to billing and other financial related matters. Work is guided by, and must be in compliance with, federal and state statutes and regulations. The Cashier will be expected to take every step necessary to remain in compliance with the rules that govern our office in order to protect student privacy and data. The Cashier will be expected to provide excellent customer service to walk-in traffic, as well as via telephone and other electronic modes of communication.
Position is temporary, part-time without benefits. Flexible 25 hours per week.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency, and one-year of cashiering experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education is preferred. The ideal candidate would have experience working in an office environment where compliance practices were followed in order to protect customer or patient information.
