Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Vice President and Dean of Student Affairs, the CCAMPIS Adjunct Counselor coordinates the U.S. Department of Education-funded Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program and manages a caseload of student-parent participants. The CCAMPIS Adjunct Counselor engages students through effective enrollment and case management interventions, coordinates program recruitment and eligibility, encourages ongoing participation, and coordinates data collection for reporting and program evaluation.

• Serves as the main point of contact for student-parents participating in the CCAMPIS program.
• Manages recruitment, enrollment/commitment, and orientation for new and continuing CCAMPIS participants.
• Coordinates and encourages participation in parent involvement opportunities such as workshops, parent peer groups, and presentations.
• Engages student-parents in effective case management interventions: monitors students progress toward completion; recommends additional services for support; refers students approaching graduation to career and transfer counseling; aids the selection of coursework and life skill planning.
• Coordinates critical data collection for interim, annual, and evaluation reporting.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess one of the following:

• A Master’s and Bachelor’s in Guidance Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Psychology, Sociology, or a closely related field and one year of experience in admissions or guidance counseling.
• A Master’s Degree in a relevant field, above, and two years of experience above.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, above, and three (3) years of experience above.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a non-specific field (other than those listed) and 2 years of experience, above, along with the appropriate Master’s degree.

The successful candidate must also possess knowledge of college courses and programs, counseling techniques; experience in using interactive/community building software such as e-portfolios, Facebook, Zoom, and the ability to relate to community college students of traditional college-age as well as non-traditional students of various ages and diverse educational and socio-economic backgrounds; knowledge of, experience with, and interest in working with parenting students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual verbal and written fluency preferred. Experience using student information systems such as PeopleSoft and Starfish and course managers such as Bright Space is desirable. Familiarity with higher education trends, especially those affecting the community college is desirable.

Additional Information:

WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday through Friday. The work hours are between 9 am and 6 pm. The maximum weekly hours is 28 hours per week, depending on the time of the year. This is an in-person position.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $45.32 per hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
