Part-time Adjunct Faculty

Adjunct Faculty in the Liberal Arts and Science Division B – Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses. An adjunct faculty position requires professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates for this position must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage students. They must also be able to use technology sufficiently to use a learning management system (Canvas) and respond to email. Adjunct Faculty report to the Assistant Dean and work with full-time faculty in designing lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure that students successfully meet the course objectives and outcomes. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for student evaluations, and timely and accurate submission for required instructional paperwork.
The position available is for a STEM Instructor for ITS297. Internship for freshman and sophomore Waubonsee college students. Knowledge of STEM and educational pedagogy including inclusive techniques for learning and sciences for middle school is required. Faculty will supervise the internship of the students at the NIU Middle School STEAM Camp.
The internship runs from May 23, 2022 through August 5, 2022.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Physics, Biology, Earth Science or Chemistry and experience with educational pedagogy is required.
