Workforce Financial Specialist

Washington County Community
College is seeking a talented professional with a strong work ethic to fill the Workforce Financial Specialist position in the college’s
business office. Under the direction of the Dean of Finance, this position will be responsible for administrative and accounting functions
for Maine Jobs recovery program, Maine Quality Centers, Harold Alfond Center and other applicable grant projects. This includes the
creation, monitoring, and reporting of all budgetary and accounting functions as required by MCCS, State of Maine, Federal guidelines, and
applicable accounting principles and procedures. Work involves the interpretation and application of controlling laws, regulations,
policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include enrollment management activities, student and third-party billing coordination, project
budget development, modification requests, and monitoring. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task
and prioritize, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Exceptional ability to adapt to changing environment and various complex software programs, computers, and databases.
Minimum
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in grant or business management. Two years of
related (grant or fund accounting) experience, preferably in a community college or business setting. Ability to analyze and interpret
regulations related to grants and communicate with all parties involved. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Superior
problem-solving, time management and organizational skills. Positive attitude and strong work ethic in a diverse educational community
setting. Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities. Proven computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and
ability to effectively work with data and ensure its integrity.
Salary: MSEA Unit, Range 17, $20.14 to $22.82 salary
commensurate with credentials and experience.
