EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to: Operationalize a racial equity lens to guide leadership and key stakeholders providing youth equity efforts to break down a complex problem or situation into a logical structure.Effectively assesses project needs and identifies potential solutions, tools or resources to advance the work.Builds surveys, conducts interviews, and performs additional research.Collects and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data to identify insights that help inform recommendations to partners/sites/stakeholders.Synthesizes findings and presents data in an organized and logical manner.Convenes and/or participates in various collaborative meetings on a broad scope of initiatives intended to advance youth equity.Engages and listens to youth across the county and various youth-serving organizations to inform initiatives and policies.Collaborates to plan youth-relevant meetings, conferences, summits, and convenings for Ventura County.Supports work with cross-sector system stakeholders and community stakeholders to bring data, research, and insights to life to share critical information with clients/partners/sites/funders. Collaborates with project leads to build approaches to communicate and facilitate conversations with partners to determine the right solutions that support the goal.Collaborates with leadership and key stakeholders to work on management and communications, including drafting email correspondence, planning and developing annotated and public agendas, check-ins, and strategizing on approaches to facilitation and crucial stakeholder conversations to achieve project deliverables. Serves as a project manager to establish and manage project plans to ensure that the team stays on track with project scope, budget, and timeline and document the process, impact and outcomes for all projects including reports and communications efforts to a broad scope of audiences.Manages operational funding and supervises support staff.Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
These are entrance requirements to the exam process and assure neither continuance in the process nor placement on an eligible list.EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCEAny combination of education and experience which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can be obtained by the following : A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, criminal justice, health administration, economics, social work, psychology, social sciences, or an ethnic-studies applied research-related discipline and two (2) years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion or social justice related work. Those individuals meeting the stated requirements will be invited to continue to the next step in the screening and selection process.TRAINING and EXPERIENCE EVALUATION – qualifying: A Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) is a structured evaluation of the job application materials submitted by a candidate, including the written responses to the supplemental questionnaire. The T&E is NOT a determination of whether the candidate meets the stated requirements; rather, the T&E is one method for determining who are the better qualified among those who have shown that they meet the stated requirements. In a T&E, applications are either scored or rank ordered according to criteria that most closely meet the business needs of the department. Candidates are typically scored/ranked in relation to one another; consequently, when the pool of candidates is exceptionally strong, many qualified candidates may receive a score or rank which is moderate or even low resulting in them not being advanced in the process. NOTE: The selection process will likely consist of an Oral Exam, which may be preceded or replaced with the score from a Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E), contingent upon the size and quality of the candidate pool. In a typical T&E, your training and experience are evaluated in relation to the background, experience and factors identified for successful job performance during a job analysis. ORAL EXAMINATION – 100%: A job-related Oral Examination will be conducted to evaluate and compare participating candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to those factors which the job analysis has determined to be essential for successful performance of the job. Candidates must earn a score of seventy percent (70%) or higher to qualify for placement on the eligible list.If there are three (3) or fewer qualified applicants, an oral examination (or Training & Experience Evaluation) will not be conducted. Instead, a score of seventy percent (70%) will be assigned to each application, and each applicant will be placed on the eligible list.ELIGIBLE LISTCandidates successfully completing the examination process may be placed on an eligible list for a period of one (1) year.
