US Patent and Trademark Office Hiring for IT Specialist (APPSW) Job at Remote Full Time

Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is eligible for fully remote work anywhere within the 50 United States, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. There is no reporting requirement. The duty station is the authorized telework location (typically your home address) and locality pay is adjusted appropriately. If selected for an interview, applicants are encouraged to discuss telework options and eligibility specific to the position in which they applied with the hiring manager.
To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, to the extent a Federal job announcement includes the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to E.O. 14043, that requirement does not currently apply. The USPTO will request information regarding the vaccination status of selected applicants for the purposes of implementing other workplace safety protocols, such as protocols related to masking, physical distancing, testing, travel, and quarantine.
The individual selected for this position will responsible for
- Managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance relating to software builds.
- Utilizing automated build tools to create IT software.
- Creating and Updating enterprise configuration management and change management policies, processes and procedures.
- Developing and maintaining an independent software build and deployment platform that supports a large scale, agile development project with multiple parallel scrum teams.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13.
Candidates for the GS-14 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-13 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes all of the following:
1) Performing automated software configuration builds with automated build software such as Git lab or Subversion;
2) Performing continuous integration for build and test functions utilizing automated tools
such as Jenkins and Sonar;
3) Managing continuous delivery of IT software projects through the release pipeline.
In addition to meeting specialized experience requirements, you must have the following IT-related experience demonstrating these competencies:
