Summary of Position |
Reporting to the Director of the Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom, the Assistant Director of Programming and Engagement provides engagement opportunities, support, advocacy, and outreach to students from historically excluded and underserved backgrounds and ally students at the University. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and assessing signature programming. The Assistant Director supervises student staff and interns and responds to student concerns and feedback to advocate for their success. The Assistant Director serves as a key administrator in the operations and financial management of programs within the Beauregard Center. The Assistant Director serves as an advisor and resource for students. The Assistant Director is a fully on-site position that collaborates with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders to develop resources and implement initiatives in support of community, equity, and inclusion at the university. |

Educational Programming and Engagement.Coordinate campus-wide programming for heritage and awareness months including Latinx Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Arab American Heritage Month, and Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Coordinate the annual MLK Day Breakfast event. Coordinate the annual Celebration of Achievement and Excellence: Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom Graduation Celebration. Support with the development of educational resources such as resource guides, library guides, handouts, etc. Prepare annual program reports for assigned programs including an assessment of program’s reach, efficiency, and effectiveness. Plan, design, and implement other programs as needed. |

Duty/Responsibility |
Communication and Outreach. Ensure staff presence is established at various diversity, equity, and inclusion related events as needed/assigned by Beauregard Center director. Provide outreach and support as an advisor and advocate for students assisting in their retention and success. Respond to bias incidents, current events, issues, teachable moments. Serve on committees, workgroups, special projects, as needed/assigned by Beauregard Center director. Support with maintaining department website, marketing materials, and procuring promotional items. Coordinate marketing and promotion of assigned initiatives and programs. Serve as a confidential resource for disclosures of sexual misconduct. |

Operational and Financial Management. Coordinate and/or administer the operational and/or financial activities associated with multiple programs and/or services as assigned, which may run concurrently. Develop budgets for assigned programs and monitor expenditures to ensure programs are within budget. Monitor the status of projects, including the organization and timelines of these projects. Provide final program/service financial and informational reports. Advise Beauregard Center Director on budgetary needs and budget tracking/discrepancies. Maintain Center space. Procure supplies for the Center. |

Leadership and Supervision. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and supervision of student employees in the Center. Responsible for scheduling student shifts, front desk coverage, supervision, and managing student employee payroll. May supervise additional paraprofessional employees, including graduate assistants, as needed. |
