Job Summary:
The WIDA Accessibility and Inclusion Assessment Specialist position is located within the Assessment Department and will report to the Director of Accessibility Research. This position will be responsible for ensuring that WIDA’s assessments are accessible to all students, including students with disabilities; providing guidance to state and local education agencies on assessment policies for students with disabilities; reviewing new test content and test designs from an accommodation and accessibility perspective; maintaining and updating accommodations and accessibility training materials and ancillary documentation; contributing to the WIDA Assessment research validation agenda; disseminating research and other information on accessibility and inclusion to a wide audience; and contributing to the operational decision making of the inclusion team as needed.
Working fully remote is an option for this position within the United States (working remotely internationally is not an option). Bachelor’s Degree
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working at a state department of education, assessment consortium, or assessment development organization.
* Deep understanding of accessibility and accommodations, particularly in the context of assessments.
* Experience providing guidance to local and/or state education agencies on issues of fairness, policy, and legal requirements for students with disabilities and English learners.
* Experience with alternate assessment development, such as developing test blueprints, developing items, creating and implementing field test plans, developing test administrator manuals and materials, and conducting standard settings and alignment activities/studies.
* Experience conducting workshops and presentations for a wide range of audiences.
