Job Summary:
90% Instructor: Teach 4-6 courses per year (2-3 per semester); courses may include introductory statistics (Stat 301, 324, 371), introductory data science (Stat 240), mathematical statistics (Stat 309, 310, 311, 312), or other introductory, intermediate, or advanced level courses offered by the department. Follow appropriate learning goals and assessment plans. Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, homework assignments, exams, and other teaching materials for these courses possibly in collaboration with a team of instructors. Administer and grade homework assignments and written exams. Hold regular office hours. Manage lecture with 50-150 students; supervise and coordinate one or more teaching assistants.
5% Course Development: Participate in new course development and existing course revision in areas of applied statistics, computational statistics, and data science, in collaboration and coordination with faculty advisers.
5% Coordinator: Coordinate instructional activities such as the management of pedagogical materials, TA/LSA training programs and records, curriculum modernization and assessment.
Responsibilities:
Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.

Education:
Required
PhD or other terminal degree, in Statistics or related field
Qualifications:
Candidate should have at least one year’s work experience in an education, research, or industry setting. One year teaching experience at the college or university level preferred. Candidates should have excellent teaching, interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail and precision, excellent organizational skills, ability to work and complete tasks under deadline pressures, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, and proven success and effectiveness in working both independently and in team.
