Business Office Assistant

Posting Summary:
Provide financial and operational support within the Grossman School of Business (GSB). Perform data entry in the processing of financial transactions, including contracts and requisitions, expense reports, purchasing card reconciliation, journal entries and budget transfers. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies. Provide guidance to staff, faculty and students on University policies and procedures. Maintain and monitor HR and financial records. Serve as the contact person for building and office requests, such as phones, supplies, signage, key/card access, work orders and space maintenance projects, safety/logistics, etc. Provide administrative support for sponsored projects. Provide support to the school’s Business Manager and Assistant Dean of Administration.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):
Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and one to three years of related business or accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software required. Proficiency with spreadsheet, database and word-processing applications. Effective interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills required. Ability to effectively perform duties within deadline-driven environment, with frequently changing customer demands, required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience using PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin desirable.
Special Conditions:
A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional overtime/weekend hours required, Background Check required for this position
