Learning Space Management (LSM) has a focus on learning space excellence with the mandate of stewardship of the University’s classrooms and testing space, encompassing all aspects including the delivery of academic activities through academic scheduling, classroom design, classroom technology, and accommodated testing. This holistic perspective allows each member of the team to work together, share experiences and better understand how their decisions and deliverables impact other team members and results. In this way, we can leverage opportunities and synergies amongst the team as well as with our broader University partners to better serve instructors and students in support of the University’s teaching mission.
Your opportunity:
As a Technical Solutions Specialist, this role will be responsible for supporting and providing excellent customer service to faculty, staff and other users of the classroom technology provisioned in the instructional spaces used by the University community in pursuit of the curricular and co-curricular mission by gathering information from end-users to pinpoint issues and determine requirements. This position will sustain and manage the Opencast Content Capture Service (OCCS) and elements of various IT projects. It will also offer advisory support on IT matters and conducting training sessions for end-users on procedures and the utilization of supported IT systems.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Classroom Planning and Tech Services, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining network systems and server software and collaborating with other teams within LSM.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 — $78,308 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $100,144. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
