Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences and the day-to-day reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Services, the incumbent will have the end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of the planning, design, implementation and support for compliant computer related technologies in administration, research and teaching. With focus on risk and security, the incumbent will provide responsive day to day support; assess and deliver programming requests and requirements; research, analyze and recommend solutions; design and implement new operating systems, networks and servers; develop and update architectural frameworks for highly complex IT systems; develop and implement IT contingency plans; work collaboratively with IT partners for service and technology improvements, peer review and general alignment; and develop operating procedures and standards for IT services.

USW Pay Band 16 — $91,328 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $116,794. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
