Introduction
The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) at the University of the Sciences offers a one-year PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency in conjunction with Cooper University Hospital. Cooper University Hospital is a 635-bed, non-profit, academic medical center in Camden, NJ. This residency is ASHP-accredited. This residency further refines skills attained during a PGY1 residency, specifically skills in patient care, research, and education. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as educators and practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the education of pharmacy students and the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Trainees will be prepared to be critical care pharmacy specialists and academicians.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a variety of critical care settings
Conduct critical care related research and participate in other scholarly activities
Educate Doctor of Pharmacy students in didactic and experiential settings
Deliver one continuing education program for pharmacists
Complete the teaching and learning curriculum program, if not completed during PGY1
Assist with residency recruitment
Support the mission and vision of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Residency Program Director
The finalist is required to successfully pass a background check
