Job Summary:
Provide leadership and guidance for all aspects of the University registrar work, including registration, student records, transfer articulation, graduation, and more. The Registrar is the officer responsible for oversight and administration of academic and student policies as they pertain to student records and maintenance of academic information about UTA’s students. Provide leadership for using technology and student info systems for strengthening student success. Perform work in ways that contribute to the university’s successful achievement of enrollment goals. Foster a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community and leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.
Essential Duties:
Provides overall leadership and supervision for the University’s student records and pertinent student info systems, including, but not limited to student records, registration, transfer articulation and graduation. Oversees all facets of the daily operations to ensure compliance with University, State and Federal laws, policies and regulations: academic standards, student records, enrollment certification, degree certification, etc. Works closely and collaboratively with other administrators, departments and committees, especially in enrollment services, to educate on, provide advice and interpretations regarding compliance and leveraging of UTA registration policies and procedures. Cultivates internal and external relationships to better understand, support and inform academic initiatives for all constituents and to develop and adapt registration policies and processes that support and advance student academic experiences, learning outcomes and student success. Recruits, trains and supervises office personnel including work allocation and problem resolution. Evaluates performance based on mutually established objectives. Offers recommendations for personnel actions both positive for productivity and negative for not meeting predetermined objectives that have been clearly communicated to the employee. Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures and communicates these to all appropriate staff and immediate supervisor. Responsible for the effective and efficient management of office resources and assets. Develop and analyze reports and interpret data to share with supervisors to shape discussions and making. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in Registrar, Records, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs or Student Affairs. Experience implementing and managing student info systems. Successful management of a complex staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree and ten (10) years of experience in Registrar, Records, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs or Student Affairs. Supervisory and/or records management experience in a progressively responsible capacity preferred. High level management role in the Registrar office. Documented success with student success collaboration. Documented success working at a complex university. Deep understanding and experience with ERP’s, especially PeopleSoft.
