Summary:
Electrophysiological characterization of APP-mediated synaptic plasticity
in
Alzheimer’s disease mouse models
An NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately to a highly motivated
individuals to participate in ongoing studies on Alzheimer’s disease. The candidate should have a keen interest in understanding complex
mechanisms underlying memory formation and storage in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease. Experience in synaptic physiology and
patch-clamp electrophysiology is required. Previous training in cell culture system, brain expression of viral proteins, small animal
surgery, or optogenetic will be an asset. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and train with
experienced molecular, cellular, developmental, and behavior neuroscientists investigating various aspects of the nervous system function
and dysfunction. The work includes broad latitude to design research under the direction of a principal investigator. Work typically
involves design and oversight of laboratory studies, analysis of research findings, and collaboration in the interpretation and publication
of results.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education &
Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate
experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral
Fellow.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. or MD. Ph.D. in a related field from an accredited institution, and a
strong background in neurobiology, molecular/cellular biology, or mouse behavior. Must meet university criteria for appointment at the rank
of Postdoctoral Fellow. This position is available for up to 3 years.
