ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF World is led
by a VP and is comprised of units across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota devoted to promoting ed abroad; supporting international
students and scholars, the management of international partnerships, international travel risk and security services, management of the
Peace Corps Prep and support for a dedicated recruiter, tracking and documenting international research collaborations and the global
footprint of faculty, students and staff, collection of data related to international acitivities at the University, international alumni
develoment and outreach, and the marketing and communication of USF World programs and initiatives. Comprising a total of over 70 staff and
a budget of approximately $4.5M, clients are USF faculty developing international academic experiences, curriculum, and research
collaborations, administrators promoting the global priorities of USF, staff responsible for supporting international activities across
campuses, colleges, and other units, current and prospective students coming to USF from other countries and U.S. students seeking global
experiences as well as university partners from abroad and foreign dignitaries. Community partners include local, state, national, and
international leaders of government and public and private organizations, including other institutions of higher ed, military, business, and
industry.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position will be to design digital and print
marketing and communications materials for the Education Abroad office study abroad programs (faculty-led, affiliate, and exchange). This
will include promotional materials for special events, campaigns, save the date information, fliers, visual aids, presentations, social
media marketing incorporating graphic images, videos, and other creative design elements. This position will update materials previously
designed, collect content for collateral materials, and develop content for social media sites including the Going Places Blog. The position
may also be asked to collaborate on special projects and assignments as needed. The marketing and communications specialist is highly
skilled working in graphic design programs such as CANVA, ADOBE InDesign, ADOBE Illustrator, Photoshop to develop creative assets for
posting on social media, on the website, and in print. Additionally, the communication and marketing specialist will be assisting in the
development and implementation of email campaigns throughout the University’s enterprise level CRM, Microsoft Dynamics. The specialist works
with leadership and staff across USF Education Abroad for marketing and communications materials, social media content, and overall branding
and messaging consistency.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong verbal and written communication are
necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes CRMs such as Microsoft Dynamics in conjunction with developing creative
layouts, design and text for presentations, fliers, event support materials, brochures, marketing campaigns, and other communications
collateral as needed.
Develops content, designs, videos, and campaigns, for social media.
Coordinates with leadership to
execute media strategy and organizational publicity efforts, and implements marketing and advertising strategies by assembling and preparing
campaigns, plans, and other deliverables.
Assists in photographing and/or creating video content of internal and external
organizational events and initiatives, and maintains electronic database of image files.
Performs other duties as
assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a High School
diploma and 5 years of related experience, OR a bachelor’s degree and 1 year of directly related experience. Appropriate college coursework
may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED:
Excellent social media and
digital branding skills; Excellent graphic design creation in Adobe Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, etc. Excellent in
Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Dynamics); Experience in posting to social media platforms; Experienced in digital
photography and video production; Proficient writing and editing skills; Must have good time management skills and the ability to multi-task
and prioritize assignments; Ability to communicate effectively.
