Advertised Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Program Specialist will be responsible for implementing the Brain Health Network’s services within communities, by helping to facilitate patient referrals and assessments for the newly established Brain Health Network. Duties will include working directly with patients referred to the Brain Health Network as well as scoring and data entry related to patient screening and assessments. This individual will work closely with a team of faculty, students, and staff to provide network and site-level training and support around program needs, providing assistance with moderately complex issues and problems and providing clinic development, and planning.
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, psychology, or other closely related discipline • Two or more years working in Speech Language Pathology• Available for travel when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
CCC-SLP ASHA Certification, task oriented, and clinical experience with adults.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Competent computer and communication skills (written and verbal), being task oriented, and possessing strong attention to detail are required for this role. Excellent oral and written communication skills • Expertise in time management, organization, and problem solving • Proficiency with basic computer software and technical troubleshooting skills.

Monitors and initiates contact with Brain Health Network incoming patient referrals and coordinates and schedules patients. Consistently reviews charts (labs, imaging, designated health fields), and maintains records in both REDCap and Epic systems.

Furnishes global project support including clinical development, training lab support personnel regarding assessments, supporting program needs, and collaborating with clinicians regarding assessment administration. Will be the primary contact for all clinical sites that administer the testing to offer necessary support in testing procedures. Answers questions and clarifies procedures for test administrators at multiple sites. Administers tests in sites that are unable to provide their own test administrator. Trains all newly hired individuals that administer assessments on the processes of administering and scoring assessments in order to provide continuity and accuracy in assessments and possible treatment.

Provides training and oversight for cognitive and language assessments to new sites as the network grows. Coordinates with community health workers, clinicians, neurologists and patients regarding resource development (i.e., community support like Meals on Wheels, support groups and other means for assisting clients with their needs.) Successful completion of these duties will assist with bringing comprehensive care to patients with various needs in many locations.
