Advertised Job Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Civil Rights and Title IX, the Coordinator for Incident Response and Support plays an important role in the institutional response of civil rights matters and supporting individuals while reinforcing a culture of integrity, accountability, and care. The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX is on a mission to create an environment where all people are treated with dignity and respect and have an equal opportunity to learn and work at a university free from discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. The Coordinator for Incident Response and Support is a first point of contact and a continuous resource for individuals to ensure they know their rights and options with the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in civil rights compliance, student conduct, human resources, social work/counseling, and/or higher education or other related area, or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, Law or related field. Prior experience with trauma-informed support services. Prior experience related to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, other civil rights laws, Clery Act, and FERPA. Prior experience with Maxient case management system.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX’s mission, program, and objectives. Ability to manage multiple, ongoing cases and a complex caseload. Independent judgment and ability to remain impartial throughout all aspects of interaction with complainants and respondents. Manage difficult and sensitive issues with compassion and cultural competence. Ability to interact and build effective business relationships with persons of various identities and backgrounds. Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. Ability to perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands. Must be able to take action when answers to a problem are not readily available. Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail.

Coordination of Response to Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct Reports
Collaborate with campus partners and the Assistant Directors for Civil Rights and Title IX to implement supportive measures for complainants and respondents. Create and foster effective working partnerships with on- and off-campus offices and partners, including, but not limited to: Student Conduct, University Housing, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Counseling & Psychiatry, Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention, and Division of Law Enforcement and Safety.

Responsible for the timely response to reports of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Serve as the first point of contact and an ongoing resource for all complainants and respondents to explain rights, policy, and procedures, and resources and/or support. Responsible for tracking of all communications, supportive measures, and remedies provided in response to concerns.
