The Senior Associate Director, Donor Events works closely with development, stewardship and alumni relations staff on all VIP and regional programming to ensure the quality of events and to manage the goals and expectations of these programs to support the overall strategy for the department. This position plays a key role in the planning, strategy and execution of high-level donor and stewardship events. This position also serves in a leadership role in relation to event briefing materials for School leadership including the Dean and University President. This position will play key support roles in our flagship events including Wharton Global Forum, Executive Board Meetings, and MBA Reunions and they will have oversight of a staff member.
Responsibilities
Partners on strategy and leads planning and execution for VIP donor events, stewardship and regional alumni events Works on event briefing materials for School leadership including the Dean and University President Manages staff member (s) Other duties as assigned, including serving as support for MBA Reunion, Wharton Global Forums and Executive Board meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of experience required with 5-7 years of meeting planning experience with a preference for experience in conference planning. Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required. Must be highly organized and self-initiating while working as a member of a team in a goal-oriented environment. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential. Frequent evening and weekend work required. Some international and domestic travel required. Must have valid driver’s license and passport. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
