Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist will be responsible for performing functions to maintain a biobank of human samples for several large multi-site cohort studies as well as assist in conducting research experiments for lung transplant projects within the Pulmonary Division. This position must maintain strict adherence to SOPs and quality control and assurance policies consistent with study guidelines and best biobanking practices, including communication with site coordinators. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to planning and conducting experiments on human samples as needed, equipment maintenance/calibration, communicating with research team members, purchasing, record keeping, and freezer monitoring.
Position contingent upon funding.
