Job Description Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Belle is seeking highly motivated, experienced candidates for the position of Lab Manager. This individual will work closely with Dr. Belle to maintain laboratory operations, manage research personnel and projects and advance the overall goals of the research program studying inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. This position provides a unique opportunity to help build an exciting new research program with translational implications. Primary duties will include ensuring the laboratory is stocked with general supplies, handing purchase orders, invoices and ensuring appropriate documentation and storage of received goods. Other tasks include supervising care of the mouse colony and assisting with genotyping and other maintenance tasks related to husbandry. The applicant will also be expected to help both with experiments and with the preparation and review of manuscripts and grant submissions.

Qualifications:
Research Specialist B: Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Research Specialist C: Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Position contingent upon funding.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience in tissue culture, flow cytometry, cell sorting and molecular biology is preferred.
– Experience in experimental planning and data interpretation is preferred.
– Experience with handling of rodents is preferred.
– Detail oriented, organized work habits and multitasking skills.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong multitasking abilities, ability to wok in a team and high level of reliability.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
