Job Description Summary
The position is for a laboratory technician to work in the lab performing a variety of biochemical, molecular biology and genomics techniques. A primary responsibility will be preparation of assays related to amyloid beta toxicity and phagocytosis in human cell lines. This person will also be responsible for culturing and differentiating iPSC to microglia-like cells. In addition, the person will be responsible for cloning, cell culture, CRISPRi and luciferase experiments. Other duties include helping others in the laboratory with related work..
Job Description
This Research Specialist A/B position will be involved with investigations of the function of Alzheimer’s disease candidate genes in microglia. He/she will primarily perform a number of basic and advanced biochemical, molecular biology and genomics techniques in human cell lines. A primary responsibility will be preparation of assays related to amyloid beta toxicity and phagocytosis in human cell lines. This person will also be responsible for culturing and differentiating iPSC to microglia-like cells. In addition, the person will be responsible for cloning, cell culture, CRISPRi and luciferase experiments. Other duties include helping others in the laboratory with related work. The Research Specialist A position will work under the supervision of a senior lab member and will work under supervisor with a 1-2 week planning scope.
Research Specialist B
This position will perform the duties listed for the Research Specialist A but is expected to work independently in the lab and to mentor students and junior staff and will have a 2-4 week research planning scope.

Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
