Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist C provides support for multiple research projects related to improving gene/cell therapy. This individual will report directly to the Principal Investigator and be responsible for implementing assays that support all research activities in the lab. Primary duties include molecular biology work such as RNA and DNA extraction, plasmid preparations, and lentiviral/retroviral vector work. Additionally, the specialist will assist with next-generation sequencing, cell culture, and the development and implementation of high-quality polychromatic flow cytometry and T cell-based assays.
The lab places a strong emphasis on in vivo studies to test the therapeutic efficacy of novel CAR T cells. Experience with in vivo xenograft mouse models is essential. Other tasks will involve bleeding and harvesting tissues and tumors. The Research Specialist C will also be responsible for maintaining accurate laboratory records, analyzing results, and summarizing data findings. This position requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
