Job Description Summary
Responsible for both strategic planning and day to day management of complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to University. Take leadership role in developing study protocols, writing grants, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.
Job Description
The Research Project Manager B is responsible for the successful planning, management and execution of study operations for research trials that adapt existing behavioral sciences approaches across multiple domains to improve health and healthcare delivery focused on cardiovascular outcomes. They will oversee the successful execution of a program to improve physical activity rates among cancer survivors at elevated risk for developing cardiovascular disease, as well as oversee the efforts to diagnose and treat Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH) across Penn Medicine. This will include the management of a randomized control trial, as well as a multi-phase research plan leading to the successful development, execution, and dissemination of a quality improvement intervention within the health system.
The Project Manager B will have demonstrated strong research and administrative skills to provide high-level management for the physical activity program for cancer survivors, the FH pilots and the following RCT. The Project Manager B will have a central leadership role in the management of the initiative, directly communicating with internal and external collaborators and stakeholders. The Project Manager will hire, train, and directly supervise research staff and train research partner staff. This position oversees recruitment, screening, and enrollment, data collection via electronic processes, database management and quality assurance activities, study document development and management, daily conduct and management of study interventions. The Project Manager B will be responsible for managing and tracking multiple complex study budgets. The Project Manager B will be responsible for all IRB correspondence and regulatory compliance, timely and appropriate preparations for study audits, and tracking and management of medical incidents, adverse events, and protocol deviations. The Project Manager B will prepare and submit grant reporting to all study sponsors. The Project Manager B will meet regularly with study leadership to provide study updates but will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. The role will include regular contact with internal and external entities of importance to manage the execution of agreements and subcontracts.
