Job Description Summary
This position serves as a critical “first point of contact” for the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Under minimal supervision, the ISSS Global Programs Assistant performs a wide range of front-line client services at the ISSS front desk. Provides general information about ISSS office policy and procedures for advising and document requests, as well as basic U.S. immigration requirement to the ISSS clientele. Provides leadership for front desk student assistants at the busy ISSS front desk. Handles initial responses to walk-in, telephone, and email inquiries. Client base consists of international students; international scholars (researchers, post-doctoral fellows, faculty, etc.); faculty; administrators; other members of the University community, as well as external colleagues. Handles triage of clients to be seen by advisors. Provides administrative and programming support for overall ISSS operations. Perform other duties as assigned.
