Job Description Summary
Manage major engineering and renovation projects for the School of Arts & Sciences (SAS) to support our diverse research and teaching mission. This position will focus primarily on managing projects that are engineering-intensive and require a detailed understanding of building and laboratory systems. The Engineering PM will keep multiple simultaneous projects on schedule and on budget while meeting all end-user and school needs. The Engineering PM works closely with end-user clients, partners in Penn’s division of Facilities and Real Estate Services, and hired Architectural and Engineering firms on projects of varying sizes and complexities. The Engineering PM will need to adhere to all Penn and SAS design standards for building performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability. In this role, you will have the chance to help reshape 20+ buildings across Penn’s campus, work closely with faculty and staff, and manage projects involving building-wide MEP and many kinds of research from MRIs to telescopes. Extensive experience collaborating with FRES and other campus partners would be ideal.
Job Description
The School of Arts and Sciences Facilities Planning & Operations provides services in project coordination, building administration, and operational services to the various departments within the School of Arts and Sciences. The Design and Construction office is responsible for maintaining existing School facilities, coordinating end-user requests, planning future projects, managing projects from design through occupancy, ensuring building and end-user needs and standards are met, coordinating occupancy, and ensuring proper project closeout and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Preferred experience in research laboratory design and/or MEP within an academic environment. Extensive experience collaborating with FRES and other campus partners would be ideal.
Job Knowledge and Personal Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, patience, good managerial and people skills, accuracy and precision, organization, willingness to follow procedures/regimen, familiarity with database software packages, CAD/CAFM systems, and basic building infrastructure systems and space planning.
