Keeping intentional equity and collective care in mind, this position will implement event logistics that provide inclusive opportunities and meaningful clarity for students, colleagues, and families who wish to engage with the University and admissions process. Through strategic boldness, the Assistant Director for Events will establish best practices for event logistics and branding across admissions events (both on and off campus). Utilizing a sense of directed focus, this position provides attention and responsibility for key areas including the maintenance and consolidation of branded inventory, venue reservation centralization, event budget reconciliation and maintenance, and logistics execution for marquee on-campus events including Quaker Days.Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Work with the UGAO staff as a planner of roughly 50 annual events including major events for prospective and admitted students, Admissions partner summits, etc.
Plan, manage and execute all aspects of events; locating venues, research, vendors and bidding, budgets, contracts, volunteer management (staff and students).
Support virtual event practices and the execution of virtual events. This also includes understanding different solutions for running hybrid-style events.
Planning of College Counselor programs and other outreach events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two to three years of experience in special events planning, coordination and execution, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, are required; three to five years of experience preferred.
Experience running virtual and hybrid events required with an understanding of Zoom and MS Teams virtual event/meeting platforms.
Must have extensive skills in leveraging Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook, with proven ability to learn and adopt new technologies and software platforms.
Must be highly organized and self-initiated while working as a member of a team within a goal-oriented environment.
Must be able to manage simultaneous projects independently.
Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines are essential.
Understanding of audio-visual equipment.
Experience with Slate CRM desirable.
Some weekend and evening work required.
