Position Title: Department Assistant
Description:
Provide administrative support for the Department of Sociology and the Master of Public Administration program across the three campuses. Work in collaboration with the department chairperson, faculty, and staff performing various responsibilities in support of department programs, assisting undergraduate and graduate students with needs that arise, and setting priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.

Position Summary:
Provides general administrative support to assigned administrator and department in the recently merged Department of Sociology and the Master of Public Administration program across the three campuses. Establishes, maintains, and ensures compliance of department and program records to ensure departmental goals. Tracks department funds and purchasing. Qualifications
Required:
H.S. Diploma minimum
Prior experience with various computer applications. This may include Microsoft Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and web tools.
Evidence of excellent written, oral and overall interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to learn and apply new software applications and/or processes to optimize efficiency.
Evidence of prioritization and coordination of multiple tasks or projects of equal importance.
Proven organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in administrative support roles which may include purchasing, budgeting tracking reporting, and policy adherence
