As the chief communications organization for the University of North Texas, the Division of University Brand Strategy and Communications (UBSC) collaborates with internal and external partners to:
Position Overview:
To support the mission of the university by overseeing and coordinating UNT’s social media strategy and accounts, serving as the top social media expert for the university. This person will plan, write, coordinate and execute campaigns in a strategic manner. Social media campaigns and content should always showcase the university’s strongest assets and support UNT’s progress in the achievement of its mission and goals. This person works independently and as part of work teams in collaboration with other UBSC staff members and others across campus to accomplish content creation and dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Photojournalism, Media Arts or related field and five years of professional writing experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Develops well-thought-out strategies for web and digital communications to best leverage university content to promote the university and keep UNT forward-thinking and competitive with university peers to recruit students.
o:
Oversees and edits content created by other staff members writing for top-level university websites.
o:
Creates new pages and content as needed, practices solid tech skills in SEO, Accessibility, Information Architecture, and other web communication standards and development standards.
o:
Coordination and management of our campus-wide web training program and communications channels to keep external campus partners informed of web initiatives.
o:
Consults with entities and departments across campus regarding university messaging/campaigns, top-level initiatives, and programs to recruit and retain students.
o:
Utilizes the enterprise content management system to build webpages and HTML/coding skills.
o:
Meets deadlines and produces accurate content up to UBSC standards and follows AP and UBSC style.
o:
Self-motivated; anticipates and responds to this job’s demands; comes up with new ways of accomplishing tasks quickly and accurately.

Keeps supervisor aware of any situation that may require proactive management (e.g., situations that may attract positive or negative attention to the university).
