Department Summary:
The Center for Human Identification (CHI) is an accredited forensic laboratory on the campus of The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. With funding from the State of Texas and various Federal Government agencies, CHI supports forensic DNA testing, anthropological examinations, local CODIS operations, training, and various research and development initiatives. CHI also manages the Texas Missing Persons DNA Database.
Position Overview:
The Assistant Quality Director, under the supervision of the Quality Director, will support implementation, monitoring, and coordination of quality assurance, quality control, and accreditation programs and practices of the Center for Human Identification.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience, or any equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Document, review, and monitor quality incidents.
o:
Manage disclosures and notifications to accrediting bodies and legal stakeholders.
o:
Write corrective action reports, including performing root cause analysis, risk
assessments, and implementation and monitoring of corrective action plans.
o:
Schedule and administer proficiency testing program.
o:
Import and organize quality assurance and quality control documentation
into Qualtrax.
o:
Initiate quality assurance workflows in Qualtrax, including document
awareness, proficiency testing, complaints and customer feedback.
o:
Assist Quality Director with performing and documenting internal audits, gap assessments,
and annual management review.
o:
Train quality support personnel; assist in providing training and guidance to analysts and
technologists.
o:
Assist with Quality Working Group (QWG) meetings and projects.
o:
Assist with drafting laboratory policies as needed.
