Brief Summary of Work for this
Position
The primary purpose of the Assistant Athletic Trainer is to support the university’s comprehensive sports medical
program by being responsible for the recognition, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for injuries that occur to UNCW’s
varsity athletes.
This position advises coaches on return to competition for student-athletes and demonstrates
discretion and sound judgment in working with confidential information and the well-being of the student-athlete.
This
Assistant Athletic Trainer position is responsible for the following duties:
* Provide athletic training coverage to UNCW’s men
basketball team and men’s golf teams that operate with limited facilities and tight class schedules..
This is a full-time
(with benefits) 12-month position.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Master’s degree in
applicable field from an accredited institution.
* Previous experience as athletic trainer at a college/
university.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required Certifications or Licensures
* National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board Certification –
NATABOC required
* Must have a NC Athletic Training licensure or acquire this within 90 days
* Professional Rescuer CPR and First Aid
certified AED certified
