Position Summary
In support of the Counseling Services Director, manages the day-to-day clinical, and administrative operations of mental health service programs within Student Health and Counseling (SHAC). Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of direct service programs to ensure quality of operations. Supervises counseling providers, assists with development of scheduling templates and flexible models of service to meet the need, provides after-hours on-call coverage, liaises with national organizations and peer institutions that inform counseling services, serves on SHAC and campus wide committees, and consults to faculty, staff, and parents about students of concern. Helps develop policies and procedures. Provides direct patient services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* As an Associate Director, assumes regular delegated functions from Director, pertaining to internal management and other duties assigned.
* Serves as Director when the Director is unavailable.
* Regularly available for consultation and emergency response to onsite clinic issues and campus committees.
* Ensures that the needs of students are addressed in emergency situations by coordinating and/or providing crisis intervention services during office hours and after hours and on weekends as needed.
* Consults and collaborates with the Executive Director/Director and leadership to develop and manage SHAC goals, processes, funding priorities, and staff-team building.
* Provides administrative assistance to the Director with systems expertise, scheduled reporting, evaluation of services, quality improvement activities, peer reviews, and department recordkeeping.
* Administratively supervises all Counseling Services providers.
* Develops procedures and assigns work tasks to improve efficiency.
* Leads case consultation, staff training, and in-services meetings on a routine basis.
* Participates in meetings between the Director/leadership and staff regarding conflicts, performance problems, disciplinary actions, and team-building activities, especially regarding work in the coordinated area.
* Full administration of new Counseling Services providers/staff including recruitment, selection, coordination, training, supervision, and evaluation of independently licensed providers.
* Contributes to the training of SHAC new hires by supporting New Employee Orientation.
* Participates in a range of activities necessary to maintain Counseling Services’ support across campus units’ embedded counselors.
* Assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, objectives, short-and long-range planning; assists in the development and implementation of projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
* Provide psychological services to students and consultation to faculty, and staff on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary, during non-traditional hours.
* Provides outreach programming as assigned, including psychoeducation, health-education, and collaboration with Health Promotions department. Assist with recorded, live, and social media outreach events to promote self-help resources, community collaborations and the mission of SHAC.
* Serve on divisional and university committees, task forces, and standing committees.
* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure: State of NM Licensed Psychologist, or eligibility for NM licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in area of specialization such as Trauma, Substance Abuse, DBT
Experience in collegiate healthcare
