Position Description
The Management
Department of the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a faculty position in
Management at our main campus in Oxford, Mississippi. This is a tenure-track position with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Duties: To teach undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level courses in various management topics including Strategic Management and
Organizational Behavior. In particular, applicants can expect to teach either the introductory management course and/or undergraduate
strategic management capstone. The normal teaching load for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 (6 credit hours per semester, Fall and
Spring) with the option to teach intersession, summer courses and/or online courses for additional pay subject to course and funding
availability.
The successful applicant will demonstrate capability to conduct research aimed toward top-tier journals, in areas such
as the psychological basis of entrepreneurship, micro-foundations of strategy, or organizational behavior. The candidate will also actively
support the development of doctoral students and provide service to the university and the profession.
Required Qualifications: To
be considered for this position, the applicant must have an earned doctorate degree (or hold ABD status with expected degree completion
prior to August 2024) in Management or related business discipline. Applicants should possess a track record of original research and
publication in elite management journals and must demonstrate a commitment to world-class scholarship, effective teaching, and
service.
The Management department at Ole Miss has a notably successful faculty. Our faculty are part of international editorial
boards and the leadership for the Southern Management Association. In the last five years, our faculty have published in Academy of
Management Journal, Strategy Management Journal, Journal of Management, Organizational Research Methods, Journal of Applied Psychology,
Journal of International Business and Organization Science. Incoming faculty would be expected to continue this productivity and can expect
robust support to do so.
The anticipated starting date is August 2024. Applications will be considered immediately. The position will
