Summary
The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers financial and human resource transaction services to customers.
Reporting to the Manager for HR Operations, you will direct staff processing select employment transactions, including approving job openings and processing job offers in U-M’s applicant tracking system, ordering background screenings, and processing I-9s & M-cards. You will provide visible leadership to the staff in a manner that ensures operational and quality customer service.
You will establish team goals and manage daily operational performance. In partnership with the HR Operations Manager, you will uphold a culture that encourages continuous improvement and professional development. You will coach the staff to ensure a team-based, collaborative environment that strives to provide service excellence, promoting a positive reputation for the SSC.
Work Location:
You will be mostly remote (95%) and you should live within a reasonable commuting distance from Ann Arbor. (Flexible scheduling will be available upon successful completion of training). Occasional onsite presence, including during Season Days, will be necessary to manage onsite operations. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided to you.
