Job Description
The Departments
of Student Development (SD) and Educational Policy, Research, and Administration (EPRA) in the College of Education at the University of
Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a position at the rank of Lecturer. This is a full-time, non-tenure track
position with a preferred start date of September 1, 2022.
The departments are searching for a candidate with
expertise relevant for the Social Justice Education (SJE) concentration (in SD) and Higher Education concentration (in EPRA) as well as
undergraduate teaching in the College of Education. Duties will be split across the departments. The position includes concentration
coordination responsibilities for the Social Justice Education Program and teaching a 3/3 load. Teaching will be split across the SD and
EPRA depending on need. Annually course assignments will be collaboratively negotiated across the SD and EPRA departments.
Primary
service and administrative responsibilities will be to SD and the Social Justice Education concentration. Concentration coordination
includes, but is not limited to, scheduling concentration meetings and developing agendas, overseeing the concentration budget, overseeing
the preliminary proposed course assignments, attending concentration coordinator meetings as well as department and college meetings, and
serving as a point of contact for student inquiries and concerns.

Additional Information
The average starting salary for a full-time lecturer is $57,000. Initial
appointment is for two (2) years. Reappointments are contingent upon the availability of funding.
