Job Summary
The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for a Lecturer of Dance to begin August 2022. The successful candidate will teach Introduction to Dance, Dance History, and Choreography as well as Jazz, Ballet and/or Contemporary Modern dance. Additional instruction may include any of the following: Hip Hop, Traditional or Contemporary West African, Musical Theatre Dance, Community Engagement, and Improvisation. Other responsibilities include choreographing for the Annual Dance Concert, Rehearsal Director for guest artist work, serving as the Artistic Director of the Materialized Student Choreography Concert, aid in student recruitment, mentoring, and participate in the BA in Dance Audition for the Department of Theatre and Dance.

The Department of Theatre and Dance has approximately 170 majors and 105 minors enrolled in its degree programs in both Theatre and Dance and offers Certificates in Musical Theatre and Filmmaking: Production and Dramatic Writing within the College of Fine Arts. Our program is NAST accredited, with a robust season of five main stage productions including a musical and annual dance concert, and an active student-produced studio season.
