Required Related Experience: Competence in Radiation Oncology Medical Physics support services as described below.
The candidate will Intra-op and brachytherapy programs. The candidate will also perform staff physicist duties such as chart checking, machine calibrations, and quality assurance. The candidate will participate in acceptance and commissioning of equipment, gathering of dosimetry data, and commissioning of external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning.

Job Summary
The Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Kentucky is seeking a faculty member to provide clinical medical physics support services including machine calibration and quality assurance procedures. This position will be ranked at the Associate Professor level.
Primary responsibilities of this position will be to support the academic and clinical mission of the Department of Radiation Medicine. Specifically, duties will include 1) clinical medical physics support services including patient specific quality assurance and potentially Gamma Knife or HDR; 2) provide didactic and clinical instruction for the department’s medical physics graduate and residency programs and radiation oncology physician residency; 3) provide leadership in developing departmental research activities including conducting mentoring and facilitating high quality original research; 4) maintain active participation in local, regional, and national professional activities.
In addition, this position will be required to assist in development of the new PhD track in the medical physics graduate program.

Experience with Image-Guided and Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy, treatment planning, brachytherapy

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience with quality assurance and treatment planning, as well as mentoring trainees in Radiation Oncology procedures; specifically implants, Head & Neck Cancers, participation in clinical trials with active enrollments.
