Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced researcher to pursue research in Ewing
sarcoma with a focus on tumor-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) and biomarker discovery. The successful candidate must perform
experiments for purication and molecular characterization of EVs and their subpopulations from cell lines and human clinical samples. They
should perform comparative evaluation of the proteome and RNA/miRNAs isolated from cancer-derived EVs and healthy donor derived vesicles and
validate candidate biomarkers using matched clinical specimens. Analyze, interpret, and review research ndings with lab supervisor. Help
prepare manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals. Prepare oral presentations and participate in lab meetings, journal clubs,
scientic conferences and other professional activities. Help the PI (Dr. Andrew K. Godwin, Professor and Division Director, Genomic
Diagnostics; Deputy Director KU Cancer Center; and Founding Direct, Kansas Institute for Precision Medicine) with grant submissions in
addition to developing independent research grant proposals. Supervise and train research personnel in the project and within the Godwin
laboratory, including graduate students, technicians, and/or summer students. Work independently and demonstrate success in developing
strong working relationships with multiple personnel related to research and clinical activities. Additional duties as may be assigned by
supervisor.

Job Description:

Required Qualifications

Education: PhD and/or MD degree in
cellular/molecular biology or related eld

Work Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in cancer and/or EV biology,
  purication and analysis techniques, as well as biomarker discovery and validation with a record of publications
• Experience in the
  design and execution of both in vitro and in vivo functional studies

Preferred
Qualifications

Education: PhD and/or MD degree in cellular/molecular biology or related eld

Work
Experience:

• Experience with generating and maintaining cell/tumor derived organoids is desirable
• Prior experience of
  writing/applying for fellowship grants is desirable and a track record of publications in the eld of exosomes and oncology is strongly
  preferred

Skills:

• Strong problem solving, communication and writing skills
• Conduct research independently and
  with a team
• Lead and manage multiple projects.
• Expert in basic techniques of molecular and cell biology, histology, in vivo
  mouse xenograft models is essential.
• Independently develop new research hypothesis and grant proposals
