Position Summary |
This is a highly responsible professional position in the Graduate School Business Office. The position involves a variety of financial and administrative duties. The incumbent will be responsible for providing post-award grants management support, managing assigned departmental accounts, assisting with human resources and payroll transactions, and performing administrative duties. This position necessitates detailed knowledge of the policies and procedures of the University. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Chief Business Officer and Associate Director. Responsibilities consist of sensitive, high-profile, and confidential nature, which include personnel matters. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Familiarity with graduate education, graduate funding, and grants management is preferred. Considerable knowledge of business, human resources, and university policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of personnel. Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Working knowledge of UGA Systems (Grants Portal, UGA Financials, OneUSG Connect, UGAJobs, Grad Status, OIR Reports, and Banner). |

Duties/Responsibilities |
Provide post-award grants management support. Maintain departmental accounts, perform monthly account reconciliations, and transfer funds for Graduate School awards. Review and approve/deny travel authorizations, expense reports, budget journals, payment requests, and purchase orders. Report any discrepancies to the Chief Business Officer or Associate Director. |

Serve as the business office representative for assigned Directors. Assist with hiring graduate students and staff in UGAJobs. Assist with processing payroll transactions (ad hoc salary requests, position funding changes, express direct retros, and termination requests) in OneUSG Connect. Provide guidance on Graduate School and university policies and procedures. |

Serve as the primary contact for the business office. Assist with compiling data for reports, tuition waiver questions, and other administrative duties. Assist with special projects. Advise students, faculty, and staff on Graduate School policies and procedures. Serve as a backup for other business staff. Participate in workgroups to develop or implement improvements for business office processes. Stay abreast of policy and procedure changes by utilizing staff development opportunities through training courses and campus-wide informational sessions. Assist with other duties as assigned by the Chief Business Officer or Associate Director. |
